Abstract During the International Polar Year 2007-2008, Japan and Germany have made the joint atmospheric observation on aircraft. The main program is called "Antarctic flight mission at Syowa Station". It includes the airborne geophysical, glaciological and atmospheric research. Another program is called for Antarctic trace gas and aerosol airborne measurement study. The paper has introduced the whole story. (ys)
