Abstract Overview of glaciological research during 2007-08 Antarctic season as part of Vostok Ice-Flow Lines project, within Trans- Antarctic Scientific Traverses Expeditions- Ice Divide of East Antarctica (TASTE-IDEA). Field observation covered first 110 km of ice flow line upstream of Vostok Station, and involved 15 m deep borehole to identify layers in ice and determine average snow accumulation rates for last 200 years; radio- echo sounding of ice sheet along 40 km section downstream of Vostok Station; and first test traverse along route from Progress Station to Vostok in January 2005.
