Abstract This issue of Reports on Polar and Marine Research presents the proceeding of the 23rd Polar Libraries Colloquy held in Bremerhaven in June 2010. The theme for the colloquy was "Cool libraries in a melting world". This paper describes methods for improving access to gray literature in polar libraries. Gray literature is defined as works that are not readily or widely available due to not being commercially published or well distributed. (mte)
